Zoning Board of Appeals

 

Zoning Board of Appeals hears cases concerning variances from the Village of Shabbona zoning ordinances.

  • The Zoning Board of Appeals also acts as the Planning Commission and reviews zoning map amendments, text amendments, special use permits, and all related matters
  • The Zoning Administrator reviews all zoning variance applications and is a member of the Zoning Board of Appeals and Planning Commission

Zoning Board/Planning Commission Meetings

  • 6:30pm on the third Wednesday each month (as needed)
  • Village Hall, 206 S. Blackhawk Street, unless otherwise posted.
  • All Zoning Board/Planning Commission meetings are open to the public

Public Hearings

  • Held for all zoning variances, annexations, special uses, zoning ordinance updates/changes, and zoning map updates/changes (65 ILCS 5/11-13)
  •  Notice of public hearings must publish in the DeKalb Daily Chronicle a minimum of 15 days before public hearing/zoning board meeting
  • All meetings begin at 6:30 pm and are held at Village Hall unless otherwise noted on meeting agenda
